Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year in a customer-facing or patient-facing role (retail, hospitality, call center, medical reception, or similar).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while staying organized and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable communicating on the phone, handling upset callers with patience.
• Basic computer proficiency: learn new systems, scheduling software, emails, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in/out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review, schedule, and follow up on referrals by gathering information, updating patient records, and guiding next steps.
• Maintain patient flow by confirming appointments, managing waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up for future visits.
• Collect copays, balances, and other payments accurately, with basic payment tracking or reconciliation as needed.
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation.
