Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA is seeking a patient services specialist to be the first point of contact in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will coordinate care, handle pre-registration and scheduling, and manage billing-related tasks to support a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities include managing a multi-line phone system, verifying insurance, enrolling patients on the portal, coordinating referrals, and assisting with check-in.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve and stay calm under pressure.
• Able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and insurance concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all aspects of patient scheduling and registration.
• Manages multi-line phone system and triages urgent inquiries.
• Verifies insurance coverage and explains benefits to patients.
• Enrolls patients on the patient portal and educates on usage.
• Coordinates referrals and manages health records requests.
• Assists with check-in, paperwork, and billing processes.
• Maintains waiting areas and follows infection control standards.
