Job summary

Colorado Springs Urology is seeking a Patient Service Representative I to deliver superior patient service in person or by phone. You will greet patients, register new information, collect co-pays, and coordinate appointments to ensure a smooth intake and checkout.

The role requires strong organizational skills, comfort handling multiple tasks, and accuracy in medical records and insurance verification, while maintaining confidentiality and a courteous, patient‑centered approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-3 years' customer service experience required.
• Experience in a medical office; specifically, urology, preferred.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of CPT procedure coding and ICD-10 diagnostic coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone.
• Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information.
• Collects outstanding patient balances.
• Obtains referrals and authorizations when required.
• Scans incoming faxes, consents, reports, and all other patient information into patient chart.
• Generates batch transmittal reports for each day.
• Facilitates patient flow by notifying providers of arrivals and delays, and communicates with patients and clinical staff.
• Schedules follow-up services and office visits for patients.
• Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Keeps medical office supplies stocked and monitors equipment.
• Protects patient confidentiality and logs off computers as needed.
• Ensures proper handoff of responsibilities after task completion.
• Meets attendance criteria and starts work promptly.
• Respects organizational commitment to cultural diversity.
• Demonstrates good use of time and resources.
• Ensures medical records are accurate and complete.
