AEG Vision in Blair County, PA is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations and support patient flow across the care team.

You will greet patients, answer calls, schedule and confirm appointments, verify insurance, enter data into EMR, and help maintain a smooth, patient-centered experience throughout visits. The role emphasizes communication, organization, and collaboration with clinicians and administrative staff to reduce delays and improve the patient journey.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn EMR systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills critical for patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner; primary point of contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage email or digital communications promptly.
• Schedule and optimize provider appointments, manage cancellations and reschedules.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data into EMR accurately.
• Communicate coverage and patient financial responsibility clearly.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation before visits to support flow.
• Collect charges and payments in EMR; monitor balances and assist with claims.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to reduce bottlenecks.
• Provide proactive updates on wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for follow-up and annual care.
• Maintain an organized, clean front office; perform other duties as needed.
