Job summary

SunState Medical Specialists is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to provide administrative and general support to staff, patients, and physicians, ensuring high-quality, professional, and efficient service.

The role focuses on patient service, scheduling, patient records, admissions/discharges, and billing inquiries, with travel to other centers as needed. Strong organizational and communication skills are required, along with experience in medical administration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Administrative experience in a busy, customer-focused environment, medical preferred.
• Handle urgent matters and time-critical medical appointments.
• Strong organization and communication skills with internal/external stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of patient billing systems and related funding mechanisms.
• Familiarity with clinical administration systems and documentation.
• Collaborative approach with administration and other departments.
• Flexible travel to other centers as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality administrative support to staff, patients, and physicians.
• Answer and direct telephone calls, respond to queries per privacy policy.
• Monitor patient flow and waiting room, assist with referrals and registrations.
• Schedule physician appointments and manage patient records before/after visits.
• Admit and discharge patients and ensure complete documentation for visits.
• Maintain patient records, sign-in protocol compliance, and document management.
• Support billing questions and liaise with billing/insurance as needed.
