Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is hiring for full-time Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) at WakeMed Cary in Cary, NC. You’ll help patients with menu selections, assemble and deliver trays, and coordinate with nursing and culinary teams to meet nutritional needs.

Previous customer service and food service in healthcare preferred. The role requires lifting up to 100 pounds and adherence to safety standards; rotating weekends/holidays may apply, with a $17–$19 hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, and preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays at scheduled times.
• Complies with federal, state and JCAHO standards; adhere to HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on restricted or special diets.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports as required.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
