Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) at Alton Memorial Hospital, IL. This temporary position offers 12-hour shifts with an alternating 3/4 day schedule.

Prior patient-facing customer service and food service experience are required, with online applications accepted. You will assist with menu choices, assemble meals, ensure nutritional requirements, and keep HACCP and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and maneuver/push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional requirements.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to offer menu alternatives for allergies and preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to patient selections; retrieve trays on time.
• Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO standards; uphold HIPAA confidentiality.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on restricted diets or calorie counts.
• Communicate problems to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports per Morrison policies.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
