Mount Sinai offsite Patient Coordinator in Scarsdale, NY, full-time day shift, coordinates patient flow and schedules while verifying demographics and insurance to ensure proper coverage for each visit.

The role greets patients in person or by phone, updates records, and communicates with staff to prepare medical records for physicians. Training provided on-site, prior healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate/GED.
• 1 year physician practice experience.
• Must have a minimum of one week training on-site which will be provided by practice.
• Prefer experience in a medical office setting, utilizing a computer system for physician scheduling.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients in person or by phone and update insurance/demographics in the practice management system.
• Verify insurance at or before arrival to ensure physician is covered.
• Communicate with staff regarding patient arrival and ensure medical records are available for the physician.
• Process/update HIPAA paperwork and other forms as necessary.
• Collect referrals or insurance authorizations as required.
• Monitor waiting room status and keep patients informed of wait times.
• Ensure co-pays are paid or collected under supervision and provide receipts.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and provide guidance for requesting medical records.
• May perform simple charge entry or enter payments and prepare deposits.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Comply with HIPAA and related PHI handling requirements.
• May initiate reminder calls for next-day appointments.
• Perform other related duties.
