Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking an Offsite Patient Coordinator to greet patients, verify and update demographics and insurance, and schedule visits. The role ensures insurance eligibility for physicians and maintains PHI integrity in the practice management system.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and at least one year of physician practice experience, with on-site training provided. Medical office experience with scheduling software is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person or by phone and update insurance/demographics.
• Verify insurance and ensure eligibility for physician.
• Coordinate with staff to prepare patient records.
• Handle HIPAA paperwork and other forms.
• Collect co-pays and issue receipts according to cash controls.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with records requests.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Adhere to HIPAA and PHI handling requirements.
