Mount Sinai Health System seeks an Offsite Patient Coordinator in New York to greet patients and establish initial contact. You will verify demographics, schedule visits, and confirm insurance coverage to ensure proper physician assignment.

Training on-site provided; prior physician practice experience preferred. Responsibilities include updating insurance and demographics in the practice management system, coordinating referrals, collecting co-pays, and ensuring PHI compliance while maintaining

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
1 year physician practice experience preferred.
On-site training will be provided.
Experience in a medical office setting using a scheduling system is preferred.

Responsabilités

Greet patients in person or by phone and update insurance/demographics in the practice management system.
Verify that the physician accepts the patient’s insurance and verify coverage if needed.
Coordinate with staff to ensure patient records are available for the physician.
Process HIPAA paperwork and related forms as required.
Obtain referrals or insurance authorizations as needed.
Monitor waiting room status and communicate wait times to patients.
Collect co-pays and provide receipts per cash-control procedures.
Schedule follow-up appointments and guide patients on records requests.
Answer phone lines and schedule appointments.
Adhere to HIPAA and state requirements for PHI handling.
May initiate reminder calls for next-day appointments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
