Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in patient-facing healthcare or customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written English; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for patients requesting appointments with attention to policies and procedures.
• Initiate pre-registration and ensure demographics and insurance information are accurate.
• Verify insurance information, benefits, and referrals.
• Obtain ID and insurance cards and verify patient identity prior to services.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards for privacy and confidentiality.
• Facilitate smooth patient flow through the clinical care process.
• Provide information on appointments and payment policies to patients.
• Offer upfront financial counseling and discuss alternative funding resources and payment plans.
• Collect funds according to established guidelines and explain financial obligations.
• Act as liaison for patients, physicians, and staff to resolve issues in care.
• Notify relevant parties about appointment times, referrals, insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Train other patient services representatives and deliver excellent customer service.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
