Job summary

McIver Clinic in Jacksonville is seeking a dependable New Patient Coordinator to manage referrals, schedule appointments, and communicate with patients. You will ensure accurate demographics, insurance data, and authorizations while assisting with registration and patient inquiries.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and experience handling a high volume of referrals in a busy medical office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of medical office experience.
• Experience with EHR and scheduling systems preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic systems.
• Previous experience processing referrals or working with insurance authorizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of incoming calls and assist patients with appointment scheduling.
• Process new patient referrals by accurately entering patient demographics, referral information, diagnoses provided on referral documentation, insurance information, authorizations, and other required information.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments according to provider availability, scheduling guidelines, and patient needs.
• Greet patients and assist with scheduling and registration needs.
• Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• Contact patients when appointments need to be rescheduled or additional information is required.
• Answer routine patient questions and provide accurate information regarding appointments and office procedures.
• Direct calls to the appropriate departments and relay messages to staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards.
• Provide professional and courteous service to patients, providers, and staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
