Job summary

CenterWell in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Referral and Scheduling Coordinator to schedule and pre-register patients for exams and procedures with specialists outside the primary care physician’s office. You will work under close supervision, handling routine tasks within defined policies.

This patient-facing role involves managing a high volume of calls (roughly 80%), communicating clear prep instructions, and ensuring accurate information flow with referring providers.

Qualifications

• 2 years of hands-on referrals healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficient in medical terminology.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Excellent professional communication abilities, at all levels within the organization and with patients, at all times.
• This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company’s TB screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and pre-register patients for exams and procedures.
• Communicate all relative information and preparation instructions to patients and referring providers.
• Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls approximately 80% of the time.
