Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in medical scheduling or patient access preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred).
• Knowledge of insurance verification, referrals, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for new patient inquiries by phone, email, and referrals.
• Schedule new patient appointments coordinating provider availability and types.
• Enter patient demographics, insurance, and referral data into the EMR.
• Verify insurance eligibility and determine referral/authorization needs.
• Explain policies, expectations, and required documentation to patients.
• Coordinate receipt of medical records, imaging, and referrals before appointments.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to facilitate scheduling.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient questions and resolve scheduling concerns professionally.
• Monitor referral queues and follow up to ensure timely access.
• Assist with additional administrative duties as needed.
