Job summary

Cardinal Health's OncoLogics location is seeking a Patient Concierge who serves as the first contact for patients and families, greeting visitors, confirming demographics and insurance, answering phones, and scheduling providers.

This part-time role typically runs Tuesdays and Thursdays 8am–4/5pm, with potential for extra hours and occasional coverage at the Lafayette location. High attention to detail and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
• Experience accessing and updating an EMR system (preferred)
• One year of medical office experience (preferred)
• Typing speed of 40 wpm (required)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families.
• Answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Receive and correctly record receipts of patient payments.
• Enter, verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Obtain insurance verifications, pre-authorizations and pre-determinations.
• Process requests for records from outside sources.
• Scan data into document imaging software.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Contribute to team effort and meet deadlines.
• Perform additional functions as assigned by management.
