Job summary

Ortho Rhode Island in Westerly, RI is seeking a Front Desk Specialist to greet patients, register and check out efficiently, and direct vendors as needed. The role supports scheduling, referrals, copay collection, and HIPAA-compliant handling of information.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, offering growth within a leading orthopedic network and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Discretion with confidential information and HIPAA awareness.
• Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and courteously.
• Register and update patients' demographic information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays as needed.
• Obtain referrals and schedule appointments, including outside testing.
• Triage patients and direct them to proper contacts.
• Support reception duties and other tasks as assigned.
