Job summary

Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic (KOC) seeks a friendly Patient Registration Team Member to join our Revenue Cycle team in Morristown. You will greet patients, complete check-in, verify demographics, and collect co-pays and required documents.

This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork with clinicians to ensure smooth clinic flow. A high school diploma and customer-service experience are preferred; familiarity with EHR systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service or front-office roles preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and compassionate approach when interacting with patients and staff.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills; able to learn EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Complete patient check-in and registration accurately and efficiently.
• Verify and update patient demographic, contact, and insurance information.
• Collect co-pays, deposits, balances, and other patient payments.
• Obtain and scan identification, insurance cards, referrals, authorizations, forms, and documents.
• Answer patient questions related to registration and clinic processes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and address missing or incorrect information.
• Assist with appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling as assigned.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and KOC policies.
