Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Medical Office Specialist to support a busy ambulatory office. You will handle front desk duties, patient check-in/out, scheduling, registration, and post-visit follow-up to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of customer service experience, and proficient computer skills with EMR/EHR familiarity. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 1+ year experience in customer service or front desk roles.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with professionalism.
• Experience navigating EMR/EHR workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors to ensure a courteous, helpful check-in experience.
• Manage check-in/check-out, collect payments, verify insurance, and document demographics.
• Enter data into the EMR and support scheduling, registration, and post-visit needs.
• Address routine inquiries and route complex issues to the Practice Manager.
