Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Scheduler for the Eminence, KY area to assist physicians by arranging follow-up visits and necessary tests.

The role requires coordinating pre-certifications and utilizing Allscripts and Centricity Business systems to ensure smooth patient flow. Primary duties include scheduling procedures, communicating prep instructions to patients, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality while delivering friendly, patient-centered service in a multi-specialty

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two years scheduling in a multi-specialty clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule follow up/return visits to our office for patients.
Obtain appropriate pre-certification and pre-authorizations, as needed.
Schedule medical tests and procedures for patients.
Discuss patient instructions for procedures with patient so patient has clear understanding of what is expected.
Calls patients to schedule procedures and give instructions over phone with follow-up letter with instructions.
Use Allscripts, Centricity Business, online paging systems.
Retrieve information from other hospital systems.
Holds in confidence all matters concerning patients according to HIPAA guidelines.
Exhibits friendly and helpful behavior.
Other duties as assigned.
