Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide safe, therapeutic care within a patient-centered practice. You will assist in direct patient care, perform procedures, collect specimens, document vital signs, and educate patients and families under supervision.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program, 1 year of MA experience, and BLS; CMA preferred. Join a team committed to safety, quality, and coordinated care across our Pennsylvania locations.

Qualifications

• 1 year Medical Assistant experience required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents reason for visit and vital signs.
• Collects specimens and ensures proper handling and transportation to lab.
• Maintains stocked patient care areas and checks equipment.
• Prepares patients for procedures and uses standard precautions.
• Schedules diagnostic/therapeutic services and tracks test results.
• Under supervision, administers vaccines and medications as permitted.
• Documents prescription requests and refills per protocol.
• Performs basic office procedures and patient education.
• Obtains comprehensive health information for care planning.
• Manages daily patient flow and supports care team duties.
• Maintains confidentiality and completes mandatory trainings.
