Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide safe, therapeutic care and support in a patient-centered practice. You will assist in direct patient care, prepare patients for procedures, document in the EHR, and educate patients and families as directed by providers.

The role requires 1 year MA experience or completion of an MA program, BLS on hire, and a strong commitment to teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• 1 year Medical Assistant experience required or completion of MA program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required on hire; CMA preferred.
• Completion of required education and competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents visit reason and vital signs.
• Collects specimens and ensures proper handling and storage.
• Stocking and maintaining patient care areas with supplies.
• Prepares patients for procedures and uses standard precautions.
• Schedules appointments and follows up on results with providers.
• Under supervision administers vaccines and medications as prescribed.
• Documents prescriptions and patient education per protocol.
• Supports patient care and data entry in the EHR.
