Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Unit Coordinator for 3West IMCU to oversee clerical functions at the nursing station and front desk, coordinating with the clinical team to support patient care and family needs.

In this role you will handle scheduling, charting, communication, and patient flow, greets patients, manages information, and ensures timely responses to inquiries, while maintaining hospital policies and a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• One to two years of clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Requires a high school education or GED.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospital systems (SEM/IDX/SDK).
• Demonstrates excellent English reading/writing and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs patients, families, visitors and staff with courteous service.
• Coordinates front desk activities and performs clerical duties for the department.
• Answers calls and inquiries; routes to appropriate staff; manages hospital email.
• Maintains patient information, charts, and scheduling; supports admissions and transfers.
