Job summary

Unit Coordinator position at Menino 6 East is a part-time role (32 hours) with rotating day/evening shifts and every-other weekend & holiday. You will be integral to the nursing station, greeting patients and families, coordinating front desk activities and performing essential clerical tasks to support the health care team.

You will work closely with clinicians to ensure timely information and responsive service, handling calls, scheduling, and discharge summaries while maintaining accuracy

Qualifications

• Requires a high school education or GED.
• One to two years of clerical experience.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs patients, families, visitors and staff in a friendly courteous manner.
• Coordinates front desk/office support services and performs clerical duties.
• Answers and responds to telephone calls and inquiries promptly.
• Manages patient information entry, charting, and scheduling tasks.
• Monitors and distributes mail, flowers, gifts, and hospital communications.
• Supports patient admission, discharge and transfers as needed.
