Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Rita's Medical Center to provide basic patient care under RN supervision and ensure comfortable, safe patient experiences.

You will support patients with daily activities and monitor health while maintaining high standards of documentation and communication. Ideal candidates have recent acute care exposure, a nursing aide credential or related clinical background, and BLS certification or readiness.

Qualifications

• Completion of nursing aide training program OR STNA OR CNA certification OR nursing program with clinical rotation, OR 1 year of clinical experience
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred (must obtain before direct patient care)

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and support under RN guidance, including hygiene, feeding and mobility assistance
• Monitor patient health and vital signs; document accurately and timely
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse; report changes or concerns
• Assist with hand-offs and routine patient transfers using safe techniques
• Encourage independence and tailor care to patient needs
