Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Rita's Medical Center - Med Surg Oncology (5K). Full-Time Days, 7am-7pm, every 3rd weekend, rotating holidays.

The PCT provides basic health care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, monitors vital signs, assists with feeding and grooming, helps patients stay comfortable, and supports families while maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assists with mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Maintains accurate, timely documentation for patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using therapeutic transfer techniques ensuring safety.
• Encourages patient independence and individualized care based on interests.
