Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses and other healthcare professionals. The role involves sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, assisting with feeding and grooming, and providing basic patient care.

You will collaborate with the care team, document care activities, assist with mobility, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients. Prior clinical experience is preferred; training on EPIC EHR is available.

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to provide basic patient care and observe safety.
• BLS certification preferred or to be obtained prior to direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize and clean patients' rooms; ensure comfort and hygiene.
• Monitor patients’ health and vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Assist with feeding, grooming, mobility and activities of daily living.
• Document care activities accurately in the EHR.
• Support hand-offs and maintain a safe patient environment.
