Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to provide direct patient care under RN guidance in accordance with regulations and policies. The role focuses on patient comfort, vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and documentation within a busy hospital unit.

As part of the care team, you will communicate clearly, follow directions, and adhere to safety and infection control standards. EPIC EHR training is preferred, enabling efficient hand-offs and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Recent acute care or long-term care experience.
• Nursing aide training or STNA certification completed.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, vital signs, personal hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse, reporting changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Participates in hand-off reports and delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe techniques and encourages independence.
