Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or healthcare professional. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and maintaining patient rooms.

Ideal candidates will have experience in acute care or home health settings, strong communication skills, and the ability to use EPIC EHR.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, home health, or long-term care settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and teamwork.
• Ability to follow directions and document accurately in EHRs.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under RN guidance, including vital signs and daily living activities.
• Sanitize and clean patient rooms and assist with mobility and hygiene.
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes.
• Document care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Assist with patient comfort and independence.
• Support hand-offs with pertinent information upon shift changes.
