Job summary

Mercy Health in Kentucky is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support registered nurses and care teams by sanitizing rooms, monitoring patient health, taking vitals, and assisting with feeding, grooming and mobility.

This role requires compassionate, patient-focused service and effective communication with patients, families and staff within our faith-based health system. EPIC EHR training is preferred, with ongoing opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care or related clinical settings.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and strong communication.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including vital signs, hygiene, mobility and comfort.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
• Participate in hand-offs and report pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Assist with transfers using safe, therapist-guided techniques.
• Encourage patient independence and personalize care to patient interests.
