Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK invites you to join our day shift, full-time Renal Services Medical Surgical PCT team. As a PCT, you’ll assist patients with daily activities, monitor vitals, collect specimens, and support the care team under supervision.

We value your hands-on clinical skills, including phlebotomy, and require a high school diploma or GED with BLS within 14 days of hire. Prior acute or long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to direct patient care.
• Two years of experience in acute or long-term care is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress and disseminates reports to RNs or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures and records intake/output and other metrics; assists with range of motion and blood draws.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
