Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center seeks a Night Shift, full-time Intensive Care Unit Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Tulsa, OK. The role supports RNs, monitors patients, records vital signs, and helps with mobility and daily activities in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Ideal candidates bring acute or long-term care experience, BLS certification, and a willingness to pursue CNA/PCT certification if not already obtained. This position emphasizes teamwork and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• CNA/PCT or paramedic certification preferred or current nursing student.
• 2+ years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Phlebotomy proficiency desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the RN to support patient care.
• Monitor patients at set intervals; document data and report concerns.
• Record patients' vital signs accurately.
• Respond promptly to call lights and alarms.
• Assist with mobility and ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment.
• Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift report.
• Perform direct/indirect patient care duties; may assist with clerical tasks.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support patient care.
• Monitor patients at timed intervals, document data as directed, and report observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs accurately.
• Respond promptly to all call lights.
• Assist patients with mobility and basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report as directed.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to the assigned unit.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
