Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Medical-Surgical-Oncology, full-time nights. Under RN supervision, you will perform basic patient care activities, monitor vitals, assist with daily living tasks, and communicate changes to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms and supports unit workflow.
• Responds to calls and communicates with staff and families as needed.
