Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support basic patient care under RN supervision. You will monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a clean, organized unit while communicating with nursing staff and departments.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and certification as a CNA/CMA/EMT or enrollment as a nursing student with clinical experience, plus BLS. Preferred phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN and monitors vital signs.
• Assists patients with personal care and daily living activities.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff promptly.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and ability to multi-task under pressure.
• Prioritizes tasks and coordinates with unit staff and departments.
