Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination in a stable-condition environment.

The role supports the RN in caring for acutely ill patients, performs basic nursing procedures, maintains patient dignity and privacy, documents care in the electronic medical record, and helps with admissions, discharges, and transfers under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Enrollment in an Associate's in Nursing or Bachelor's in Nursing program is required.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and documents care in the EMR.
• Assists with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives as assigned.
• Maintains patient comfort, safety, and privacy during care.
