Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care coordination on an inpatient unit. The role supports the RN in caring for acutely ill patients and ensures documentation in the EMR is accurate and timely.

Responsibilities include vital signs, intake/output, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining patient comfort and safety in a compliant

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in an acute or long-term care facility or enrolled in an Associate's/Bachelor's nursing program.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Proficient in phlebotomy and straight catheterization.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and assists with non-direct patient care unit coordination.
• Documents vital signs, I&O, specimen collection, and other treatments in the EMR.
• Assists the RN in care of acutely ill patients and adheres to hospital policies.
• Participates in admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Supports unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
