Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers, and support non-direct care unit coordination in a stable patient population.

You will perform basic nursing procedures, document in the electronic medical record, maintain patient comfort and safety, and participate in quality initiatives and timely communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School/GED required.
• Experience as a PCA, PCT, NA, LPN, EMT, or related military role with 1 year in acute or long-term care.
• OR enrolled halfway through an Associate's in Nursing or in the junior year of a BSN.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Proficient in phlebotomy and straight catheterization.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives and bedside rounds.
• Documents vital signs, I&O, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
