Allegheny Health Network seeks a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care, assist with non-direct coordination, and support RN duties for acutely ill patients in a stable condition.

Responsibilities include vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and documentation in the EMR, under RN supervision. Requires high school diploma and nursing program progress; CPR and background clearances are required.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• 1 year in an acute or long-term care facility OR enrolled in an Associate's in Nursing or Bachelor's in Nursing program.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient in phlebotomy and straight catheterization.

Responsabilités

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as ADLs, vitals, specimen collection, phlebotomy, I&O, meals, 12-lead EKG, and IV care.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives including hourly rounding and safety protocols.
• Accurately documents vital signs, I&O, restraints, specimens, EKGs, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activity such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
