Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care coordination on the 5N Med/Surg unit at Wexford Hospital. The role supports the RN in caring for stable and acutely ill patients, with emphasis on patient safety, documentation in the EMR, and maintaining a clean, organized unit.

Responsibilities include vital signs, ADLs, specimen collection, I&O, mobility, and help with admissions/discharges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Basic mathematics skills

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and supports nursing procedures for stable patients.
• Documents vital signs, intake/output, and other treatments in the EMR.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers and maintains a clean environment.
• Participates in safety initiatives and reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Performs unit duties such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning as assigned.
