Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to deliver direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role emphasizes safety, compassionate care, and adherence to standards.

You will perform ADLs, monitor vital signs, assist with hygiene and mobility, document accurately, and help maintain a safe, clean environment within an acute care setting. A Basic Life Support certification is required within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• One year of prior patient care experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Proficiency in the Core Competencies of the PCT I/II position as validated by Memorial Hermann Clinical Education.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Vital signs, hygiene support, mobility, nutrition, bathing, and ADL assistance.
• Documentation of information and reporting changes to the nurse.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment; follow safety policies.
• Obtains and prepares laboratory specimens as prescribed.
• Assist in orienting new employees as appropriate.
• Adheres to policies and standards within budgetary specs; support departmental goals.
• Promotes compassionate, personalized experiences per Memorial Hermann service standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
