Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a compassionate nursing assistant to support inpatient care. You will document vital signs, assist with daily living activities and help transport patients under RN supervision, contributing to patient comfort and safety.

The role emphasizes accurate medical record documentation, adherence to HIPAA and infection control, and teamwork within the care unit. Shifts are rotational and may include weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Limited or no experience: must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Acute care experience within the last 3 years (preferred).
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program with at least one clinical rotation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care including vital signs, ambulation and daily living activities.
• Assists RN with care of acutely ill patients and follows infection control practices.
• Documents changes in patient condition and communicates to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
