Job summary

The Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on the inpatient unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support the care team under RN supervision.

This role requires basic education, the ability to follow instructions, and CPR certification. Training is provided; shift options include steady night rotations with a 36-hour work week, and duties include admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• CPR – American Heart Association certification required.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program; preference for those with at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care including ADLs and vitals.
• Assists RN in care of acutely ill patients and coordinates unit activities.
• Documents care in the EMR and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Supports admissions, discharges, and transfers on the inpatient unit.
