Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination on an inpatient floor. You will perform basic nursing procedures, monitor vitals, assist with activities of daily living, document in the EMR, and support RNs with acutely ill patients under supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, willingness to complete two weeks of training, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care including activities of daily living, vitals, meals and mobility.
• Assists with patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Documents care in EMR and communicates changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
