Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a healthcare assistant to provide direct patient care to individuals in stable condition. You will support RN staff, perform basic nursing procedures, document care in the EMR, and help with admissions, discharges, and transfers while upholding HIPAA and patient privacy.

The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and timely communication within a busy inpatient unit. Training will be provided; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• CPR certification and background checks may be required (as stated).

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, meal consumption, and other routine care.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Documents vital signs, weights, I&O, and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
