Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a part-time nursing assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role supports acutely ill and stable patients, maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and a safe environment, while adhering to hospital policies and HIPAA guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, attendance at training, and ability to read, write, and follow instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred acute care experience in last 3 years.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program.
• Preference given to those enrolled in Nursing programs and completed at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities (e.g., ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection).
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives (e.g., bedside report, hourly rounding, falls prevention, hand washing).
• Accurately documents vital signs, I&O, medications and treatments; reports changes to RN.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
