Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in daily patient care activities on day shift. Requires a high school diploma or GED and current Basic Life Support certification; prior PCT experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Experience as a Patient Care Technician is preferred.
• Strong English communication and documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with patient data.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and mobility.
• Assist with treatments and equipment setup, ensuring sterile technique.
• Document vital signs, intake, and output; perform basic POC tests.
• Support safety by following restraint policies when required.
