Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to provide patient care under the supervision of licensed staff. The role supports daily living activities, vital signs, and basic bedside procedures within a high-demand hospital setting.

Qualified candidates have at least a high school diploma or GED, current BLS certification, and 800 hours of prior PCT experience or 6 months of inpatient/outpatient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Demonstrated competency attainment in PCT I with 800 hours of clinical work and 6 months in inpatient/outpatient care.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Medical terminology knowledge and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under licensed clinician direction and assist the health care team.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort; monitor vital signs and observations.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Perform bedside care including EKGs, POC tests, bladder scanning, specimen collection.
• Support treatments and procedures with equipment preparation and sterile technique.
