Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to support licensed clinicians in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will perform vital signs, assist with daily activities, document observations, and help maintain a safe environment while developing competency and contributing to patient care.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience as Patient Care Technician or related clinical care.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations.
Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
Assist with daily living activities and patient transport.
Assist with treatments and prepare equipment and supplies.
Observe vital signs and record measurements.
Ensure patient safety and follow hospital policies.
Precept new Patient Care Technicians.
