Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to join the care team. The role supports licensed clinicians by delivering direct patient care, monitoring patients, and assisting with daily living activities in a patient‑centered environment.

The PCT I will perform vital sign checks, assist with procedures, and help maintain a safe, respectful care setting while following hospital standards and directive supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Demonstrated medical terminology knowledge.
• Computer skills for charting and documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of licensed clinicians and support the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient safety and observe, document, and report observations.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility for patients.
• Take and record vital signs and measurements as assigned.
• Assist in procedures and prepare equipment and supplies.
