Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for a 32-hour per week, day shift on-site role. The position emphasizes patient support, safety, and collaboration with nurses and the healthcare team.

Under licensed clinician supervision, the PCT I will perform patient care activities, monitor vital signs, assist with ADLs, and ensure a compassionate, respectful environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic Medical Terminology knowledge.
• Must remain calm under stress or in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN about patient observations.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assist in creating a safe environment and de-escalation as needed.
• Assist patients with daily living activities including hygiene and nutrition.
• Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using safe techniques.
