Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include basic nursing tasks, patient safety, and ongoing communication with the care team.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/CNA/MA program or equivalent, and BLS certification within 60 days. Experience in phlebotomy and EKGs is preferred. A supportive team and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or GED equivalent programs.
• Completion of one of: CNA/Medical Assistant/PCT program; or nursing Fundamentals program; or HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across age groups with focus on safety and comfort.
• Document vital signs and clinical data; notify RN of abnormal results.
• Perform venipuncture and routine lab specimen collection.
• Assist with procedures, EKGs, and patient transport as needed.
• Maintain clean, ready-to-use equipment and environment.
